THE LITTLE WOMEN, A Movie to make a Star of a Woman

THE LITTLE WOMEN (2019)

Little Women is a 2019 American coming of age period drama film writen and directed by Greta Gerwig. It is the seventh film adaptation of the 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott. It chronicles the lives of the March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—in Concord, Massachusetts, during the 19th century.

The film explores themes of self-sacrifice, hard work, love, and the importance of following one's own path. It also highlights the idea that women have the right to make their own choices and live their lives as they see fit

Saoirse Ronan
Ronan's portrayal of Jo March leaves a strong impression

Florence Pugh
Pugh's portrayal of Amy March is outstanding and makes her a heroine. Pugh's character is difficult to portray because many find Amy's personality off-putting, but Pugh makes it possible to understand her character's struggles.

Emma Watson
Watson portrays Meg March as the sister who knows what she wants.

Bad part : Some of the criticism towards the 2019 Little Women, is the fact that a lot of the promotion of the film included several fatphobic comments from Gerwig regarding Friedrich's character. Obviously this is not ethical or morally correct. There is a problem within Little Women researh, because there are Alcott's scholars who dismiss Friedrich as a love interst for Jo because of fatphobia. Based on Louisa May Alcott diaries Louisa May Alcott

Favorite Scene : Maybe my favorite part of Little Women is the family bonding of the Marches. It is always great to be accepted and loved as we are, and to have a home where we are belonged to. The characters are memorable, but sometimes seem unreal. But unrealistic—angelic in this case—characters, like those of Dickens, are indeed memorable.

a fascinating film!
